I have tried writing regularly in the past, but I'm going to give it one more chance. Previously, I stopped doing it after a while because I couldn't come up with things to write about, or I just missed a few deadlines, and then it was easier to stop.
Nowadays, I have more time to read news, books, study, and do my own projects. I'm more optimistic that I could have good topics to write about, and I try to make this a habit.
My goal is to write one post a week. I'm going to release it by Sunday. At the beginning, I'm just writing these to the website's source code, but it increases the bundle size. I'm going to, at some point, move these to a database/CMS, like Notion, where I could also format them to look better. I don't want to spend weeks perfecting this before typing my first note, so I'll start like this.
At the moment, I'm reading a lot about finance, startups, cyber security, and China. I got a "free" Financial Times subscription with my Revolut bank account (https://www.revolut.com/en-US/metal/), so I have started reading it. I'm considering getting Wired because it's only $5 a year, and they have some good tech articles. I see cyber security as a valid path I might pursue more in the future, so I'm spending time keeping up with the latest news and studying it. I find China fascinating because of the opportunities it offers. I might never live there, but its impact is increasing, so it's good to understand it. I enjoy reading finance books about China, but I also enjoy reading journals of people who lived there to understand daily life.
I'm planning to write a lot about the books and articles I read, but also about topics I learn while building my own projects, working, and studying.
My plan is to make this some kind of combination of the following newsletters I enjoy reading:
Ali Abdaal https://aliabdaal.com/newsletter/
Chamath Palihapitiya https://chamath.substack.com/
Morning Brew https://www.morningbrew.com/daily/subscribe
