For me, the fascination is a mix of art, engineering, and story. Watches can be beautiful in the same way paintings are beautiful. The engineering behind them is fascinating, especially now that almost every device has a chip inside it. There is something special about a purely mechanical watch. They also carry memories. Every watch has a story, and I usually get mine in connection with an important life event.
